"The Wall of Remembrance"
The "Wall" includes thirteen separate 3'x 5'panels with the names of every US service member killed in action from September 11th, 2001 thru September 11th, 2011, providing participants with a unique opportunity to connect with those whom paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we all enjoy today. All 13 panels will be alphabetically located along the Park West Boulevard walking path, starting just after the Parks and Rec entrance and continuing to the Park West Pools.
Registration Fee: A donation of $20 is requested but not required. You will be able to make your desired donation, of any size, after submitting this registration form below. Donors of over $100 will be added to our Donor Wall of Honor here:
Distance: About 2 Miles (one way)
Start/Finish location: Anywhere you wish to start from or go to along the route. Any time you wish to start. The panels will be on display from 8am-noon. This is not a race with a start/finish line but rather a tribute for each participant to observe as he/she wishes.
Volunteer Honor Guards Needed - We are looking for a few good men and women to stand with our Wall of Remembrance panels. You can register to volunteer here and also select the time and panel you wish to "guard".
Parking: Park West has a large parking lot located at the start of the course inside the Parks and Recreation complex as well as parking at the pools where the route ends. We advise that Park West residents walk,bike, run or take their golf carts to the course as this will ease the pressure of parking for other guests.
